Intranet for Volvo Car.

The Volvo Cars has been producing passenger cars since 1927. The company focuses on high quality and reliability of its own vehicle structures. That is why the Volvo’s cars are associated with safety and comfort of use. Currently, The Volvo Group has 19 plants and 180 branches around the world.

 

 

Tasks and objectives

 

Within the cooperation with Volvo, we have prepared and implemented a functional intranet. It includes all features, which allow reaching the employees, by giving them access to the latest internal information regarding the company’s operations. We created the intranet service based on our proprietary Edito 4 system.

 

 

 

The intranet system is a major source of knowledge and information for the company’s employees.

 

 

 

Our platform gathers representatives of 23 countries from various company departments from the top management, through sales and marketing departments, customer service, finance, and logistics. The implemented intranet has a variety of functions - including news module and event calendar. Scheduled events can be downloaded to Outlook and due to the reminder option employees are not to miss important events.

The key element of the intranet is the mobile application for iOS and Android. The crucial part of this functionality is push notification, because of which users are automatically informed about any new content/documents that is added to the system. The push notifications enable almost instantaneous information on any news and changes in regulations, etc. to all company branches around the world.

Document Hub is also a convenient solution which offers access to various files. The user can find information according to the selected criterion, e.g. country, category, type, size or date of publication. Advanced search gives the possibility to save time by quick access to specified information.

The applications were built in React Native technology and integrated with the Firebase database.
